The Loons is a General Admission (GA) venue. This means the audience is standing/no allocated seating.
Seating options can be configured based on the type of event.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
The Loons is wheelchair accessible. Our friendly staff will find a place for you within the venue with a great view - please arrive early and have a chat with us as we do not have allocated seating specifically for wheelchair users.

AGE RESTRICTIONS
All Loons shows are R18, unless stated otherwise. Those who are underage will not be able to attend shows, even if a legal parent or guardian is present. The Loons is a licensed venue and valid ID will be required. Valid forms of ID are: a current NZ passport, a current NZ driver licence, HANZ 18+ card, or Kiwi Access Card.
These are the only forms of photo ID / verification of age that are acceptable as per the Liquor Licensing Law.
We ask for your respect and cooperation regarding the consumption of alcohol prior and during the event. If you are assessed as being intoxicated you will not gain entry to the venue.
LOCATION, PARKING & TRANSPORT
The Loons is located at 16 Canterbury Street, Lyttelton, Christchurch, NZ.
There is no designated parking available, although limited street parking can be found on surrounding streets. There is a small, uncovered, public carpark directly behind the venue.
If you wish to take public transport, options available include:
BUSES
Metro bus (Route 28) arrives and departs from Lyttelton Wharf, only a 2-minute walk from the venue. The last bus will depart Lyttelton Wharf at 11:05pm on Friday and 10:55pm on Saturday, to Christchurch CBD. UBER
A reasonable Uber fare from within Christchurch CBD will cost around $30, depending on exact location and times. Split a fare with your friends for around $8pp each way!
